Goldman Sachs has projected that a group of five tech giants—Amazon, Alphabet (the parent company of Google), Microsoft, Oracle, and Meta—will collectively allocate a staggering $800 billion towards AI infrastructure development in 2024. Analysts suggest that these hyperscale cloud service providers would need to generate roughly $300 billion in AI-related revenue each year just to break even. Nevertheless, factors such as escalating financial requirements and limitations in infrastructure capacity could potentially hinder the pace of future spending growth.
