On September 21, 2026, Amazon has blocked shopping access on its platform for Meta's newly launched personal AI agent, Muse, citing privacy and security concerns. Amazon claims that Muse accessed user accounts and processed orders without authorization or proper identification. Meta, however, states that Muse cannot read user passwords or payment information, as user credentials are stored in a secure area and Muse can only invoke them without viewing the plaintext. Both parties have initiated communications regarding the issue.
