Following the conclusion of the 2026 Leapmotor Tech Day, executives from Leapmotor engaged in an in-depth dialogue with the media. During the discussion on the embodied AI sector, Zhu Jiangming, a key figure at Leapmotor, emphasized the company's cautious approach, steering clear of speculative hype and opting instead to advance technology implementation at the opportune moment. He disclosed that Leapmotor's humanoid robot, which has been fully independently developed, is currently undergoing testing and boasts multiple core capabilities. At present, the company is actively exploring small-scale commercial scenarios to facilitate scalable deployment.

Zhu also highlighted that Leapmotor's robotics development is still in the preliminary research phase, indicating that more time will be needed to establish a sustainable and profitable business model. He expressed his belief that non-humanoid robots will ultimately offer greater value in the market. Consequently, Leapmotor has decided not to prioritize humanoid robots in the immediate future. Instead, the company will concentrate on automation scenarios, capitalizing on its existing technological prowess to create innovative products and foster a second growth engine.
