The South Korean government is poised to unveil a substantial energy investment initiative in the United States, designed to bolster the development of the U.S. artificial intelligence sector. This announcement comes as another pivotal advancement following the trade pact secured between the U.S. and South Korea the previous year. According to reports, the deal, backed by South Korean funding and exceeding $100 billion, envisions the construction of up to eight nuclear power plants alongside a natural gas project in the U.S. In October of the preceding year, an agreement was struck between Trump and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung to slash U.S. tariffs on South Korean automotive and related industries from 25% to 15%. In a reciprocal arrangement, South Korea pledged to invest $350 billion in the United States and to procure an extra $100 billion worth of U.S. energy commodities.
