OpenAI's core product leader, Tibo, recently issued a warning that user demand for GPT-6 Astra far exceeds past experience, and if demand continues to grow, the company may suspend new Pro subscription services. Morgan Stanley analysis points out that GPT-6 Astra has shifted the bottleneck of AI development from skepticism on the demand side to supply-side pressure, a change that has impacted the pricing logic of industrial chains such as computing power. Tibo joined OpenAI from Google DeepMind in 2024, leading the development of Codex and overseeing multiple product lines including ChatGPT. He is well-known in the developer community for frequently resetting users' Codex quotas. GPT-6 Astra has achieved a leap in capability from a 'response engine' to an 'AI agent,' outperforming GPT-5.6 Sol in the OSWorld 2.0 test and capable of completing more complex tasks. Its enhanced capabilities have altered the demand logic for Tokens, with the number of Agents, the task complexity of individual Agents, and continuous operation collectively driving up total Token consumption. There may be situations where demand growth far exceeds the increase in the number of Agents.
