Two sources familiar with the matter revealed that the U.S. Department of Justice is investigating Nvidia's deal last year with AI chip manufacturer Groq to determine whether Nvidia attempted to circumvent antitrust scrutiny. The deal, referred to by Groq as a 'non-exclusive licensing agreement,' allows Nvidia to use its chips specifically designed for artificial intelligence computing. As part of the agreement, Groq CEO Jonathan Ross and COO Sunny Madra joined Nvidia.
