On September 8, DeepSeek initiated a fresh wave of recruitment, with plans to bring on board around 150 engineers. The roles are predominantly centered around service-side development engineers and Agent elastic computing R&D engineers. The primary focus is on recruiting seasoned senior back-end engineers boasting 2 to 10 years of hands-on experience. Notably, no AI research positions are part of this hiring spree.

Cui Tianyi, the head of the DeepSeek Harness team, shed light on the reasons behind this recruitment drive. He mentioned that a significant uptick in business volume has led to a surge in data, machines/containers, training tasks, Agent environments, user base, and request volumes. The current back-end system is struggling to keep pace with the anticipated scalability needs, prompting the need for new talent.

The service-side development engineers will be tasked with overseeing six key areas, encompassing large model research platforms and Agent framework components. Meanwhile, Agent elastic computing R&D engineers will concentrate on two primary fronts: platform development and upkeep, along with underlying optimization and troubleshooting.

Previously, in June, DeepSeek had rolled out an extensive recruitment plan. However, this latest recruitment effort is more laser-focused, aiming to tackle system bottlenecks arising from the company's rapid business expansion.
