On September 8, insiders revealed that Anthropic has opted not to proceed with the acquisition of artificial intelligence (AI) startup Decart AI. Earlier, Anthropic had delved into the potential deal, conducting thorough due diligence on Decart. However, they ultimately decided against it. Nevertheless, there are whispers that the two entities might still explore other collaborative opportunities down the line.

In August, media outlets reported that Anthropic had intended to acquire Decart for a sum around $6 billion. However, the deal remained unfinalized and was teetering on the brink of collapse. Decart's software is renowned for its ability to boost chip efficiency, consequently slashing the costs associated with AI training and operations.

Anthropic, a company that seldom embarks on large-scale acquisitions, has been channeling its computational resources into developing innovative products and customer services, gearing up for its impending Initial Public Offering (IPO). According to sources with intimate knowledge of the matter, Anthropic aspires to secure funding in its IPO that matches or even surpasses that of SpaceX.
