On August 27, reports emerged indicating that Amazon (AMZN.O) and Nvidia (NVDA.O) jointly made an announcement on Wednesday (local time), revealing Amazon's plan to deploy around 2 million high-performance Nvidia chips, specifically tailored for training and operating artificial intelligence models, between 2027 and 2028. Earlier, in March of this year, Amazon had already announced its intention to install 1 million Nvidia chips in its Web Services (AWS) data centers, starting from this year. The chips covered in this latest agreement encompass Nvidia's Blackwell Ultra, Rubin, and Rubin Ultra graphics cards. The unit price for each chip is anticipated to be at least in the tens of thousands of dollars, although significant customers may be eligible for discounts.
