AI firm Anthropic PBC has inked a significant deal, pledging to spend $45 billion on leasing AI computing power from Nscale's substantial data center project located in West Virginia, USA. This move is aimed at catering to its anticipated and steadily escalating business demands. As per the agreement, Nscale will harness NVIDIA Vera Rubin chips to fulfill Anthropic's computing power needs. These chips are projected to be progressively deployed starting from late 2027. The contract spans six years and encompasses an electrical capacity of around 460 megawatts, which is comparable to the simultaneous electricity consumption of approximately 345,000 American households.
