On August 26, the Information Office of the State Council convened a press conference under the theme “Embarking on the 15th Five-Year Plan”. During the meeting, Xin Guobin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted the rapid development of China's AI industry in recent years, which has become a significant catalyst for economic growth. Regarding infrastructure, China's computing capacity has continued to grow, with the scale of intelligent computing power reaching 2,185 EFLOPS by the end of June. Additionally, more than 70 major computing corridors have been established around computing hubs. Domestically developed open-source models have achieved innovative breakthroughs, demonstrating superior cost-effectiveness and winning favor among global users. At the application level, AI has been seamlessly integrated into various stages, including research and development, design, production, quality inspection, and operation and maintenance, thereby accelerating industrial upgrading. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will thoroughly explore application scenarios, identify high-value scenarios across industries, and launch special programs to foster application service providers. The objective is to convert the rich manufacturing experience into lightweight, cost-effective, and easily deployable industry-specific solutions, enabling enterprises to apply them effortlessly and achieve tangible outcomes.
