A research report from CITIC Securities highlights that on August 25, the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released a draft for public comment on the "Guidelines for the Construction of the National Brain-Computer Interface Industry Standard System (2026 Edition)." The guidelines outline a plan to formulate and revise over 40 standards by 2028, with a cumulative total of more than 80 standards by 2030. This will establish a comprehensive standard system framework spanning the entire industrial chain, encompassing fundamental commonalities, hardware, software and algorithms, data and communication, products and systems, industry applications, safety and governance, among others. The development of this standard system is set to expedite technology verification and product finalization, while fostering specialized division of labor within the industrial chain. CITIC Securities recommends focusing on related targets across three key areas: firstly, achieving independent control over core hardware components such as electrodes and chips; secondly, possessing extensive data accumulation and leading-edge algorithm development capabilities; and thirdly, securing breakthroughs in clinical translation within the medical field, along with clear implementation scenarios and commercialization channel advantages in non-medical fields.
