On the 18th, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology unveiled the "Research Report on Embodied AI Training Grounds (2026)." The report highlights that with various departments actively driving the development of pilot bases and training grounds for humanoid robots, China's embodied AI training grounds have emerged as pivotal infrastructure, forming a large-scale, clustered landscape. Presently, more than 70 embodied AI training grounds have been set up and are in operation across the nation, with over 40 additional sites either under construction or in the planning phase. The industrial chain for these training grounds has begun to take shape. Capitalizing on the strengths of the embodied AI sector, the establishment of training grounds has fostered three primary clusters in the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and Pearl River Delta. These clusters span more than half of the provincial-level administrative regions nationwide. Furthermore, this development has transcended the traditional paradigm where the AI industry was predominantly based in first-tier cities, now extending its reach to third-tier and lower-tier cities.
