NVIDIA has announced a $1.5 billion investment to support the development of SB Energy, collaborating with them at the PORTS-Pike technology campus in Pike County, Ohio, to secure land, power, and shell capacity to accommodate NVIDIA's computing needs. OpenAI will be the primary customer for this data center. SB Energy will be responsible for constructing, owning, and operating the data center, leasing it to OpenAI under a 20-year lease agreement. The PORTS-Pike project is expected to create tens of thousands of jobs and cover the costs of power infrastructure construction. Additionally, the project will focus on an $80 million community benefits fund, investing hundreds of millions of dollars into the community. NVIDIA will provide credit support to ensure the initial 4.25 IT-GW of computing capacity, with an option to receive the remaining 3.75 IT-GW. NVIDIA will become the exclusive AI computing infrastructure provider for the campus.
