Westlake Robotics stands as the inaugural achievement transformation project of Westlake University within the realms of AI and robotics. It was founded by tenured professor Wang Donglin, with Zhang Yue serving as the co-founder. Its core team is a blend of elite talents from both leading enterprises and universities, committed to full-stack self-research and development. They have successfully broken through the three core segments of Embodied AGI (Artificial General Intelligence). Within a mere six months, the company has accomplished four consecutive rounds of financing, amassing a total of 500 million yuan. The latest Series A financing, led by Haiyuan Capital with an investment of nearly 100 million yuan, will be allocated to the research and development of a unified large model for the entire body of humanoid robots and the establishment of a talent cultivation base. The company has introduced its original, self-developed GAE (Genie Avatar Engine) Avatar System and completed the adaptation and verification of multiple bipedal humanoid robots, deployed in collaboration with top manufacturers. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the full-stack intelligent platform humanoid robot, 'Westlake o1'. Equipped with the GAE system, this robot exhibits autonomous motion decision-making capabilities. Its hardware showcases self-developed joints, foldable, and modular designs, rendering it adaptable to a variety of scenarios. Presently, Westlake Robotics has forged in-depth partnerships with companies like Alibaba and Intel, securing nearly 100 million yuan in orders, with business spanning areas such as scientific research and education. Furthermore, the company is set to collaborate with the Longyou government to construct a training base and plans to provide solutions for scenarios including high-risk industrial inspections.
