On August 12, local time on August 11, Anthropic announced that it has signed the guidelines (Note: ' guidelines ' is translated as 'guidelines' in context, but kept as placeholder here for HTML integrity; replace with actual translation if needed) in Article 50 of the EU AI Act regarding transparency of AI-generated content. Starting August 2, texts generated by the Claude model will embed invisible watermarks, while files such as images will include digitally signed provenance metadata. Anthropic stated that this marking mechanism will be applied to all major products and access channels under Claude, including Claude Platform (API), Claude, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and Claude Tag, as well as to cloud partners accessed via AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry. Additionally, this mechanism will be implemented globally, covering all Claude product lines and partnered cloud platforms, not limited to the EU region.
