From AlphaGo's sweeping victories in the world of Go to the advent of ChatGPT, the United States once enjoyed a substantial first-mover advantage in the realm of algorithmic large models. However, the ascent of Chinese large models in recent years is steadily reshaping this competitive landscape. Media outlets like The Wall Street Journal have reported that the new-generation open-source large model Kimi K3, introduced by Chinese large model unicorn Moonshot AI, has created ripples across the capital market. Its influence is comparable to the market upheaval sparked by DeepSeek's release in 2025, even earning commendation from Elon Musk, who described it as "impressive."
In the meantime, some prominent U.S. companies have also started to adopt Chinese large models. According to the Associated Press, cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase is leveraging Chinese AI models to curtail costs, while Airbnb has integrated Alibaba's Qwen model, lauding its "swift and cost-effective" attributes.
