On July 31, the 'Pause Timer at Red Light' feature for food delivery riders, jointly launched by Meituan and Suzhou Public Security Bureau, officially went live and commenced road testing in Suzhou. This feature pauses the delivery timer when riders are waiting at red lights, with the waiting time accumulated separately and extended within the overall delivery duration. The rider app displays a countdown for the red light and the duration of the wait, and the system informs riders of the extended time upon delivery completion. Currently, the feature is being piloted at approximately 1,100 intersections in Gusu District and Suzhou Industrial Park, with plans for gradual expansion to over 20 cities nationwide.
