At a recent press conference, Jiang Yi, the spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), highlighted that during the first half of this year, China witnessed a remarkable acceleration in independent innovation within the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Notably, significant breakthroughs were achieved across various segments of the entire AI industrial chain. Local enterprises have successfully launched open-source large-scale models boasting trillions of parameters, and the global download count for domestically produced large-scale models has surpassed a staggering 10 billion times. Looking ahead, the NDRC is committed to balancing development with security, fostering the sustained and healthy growth of the AI industry through four key strategies: expediting independent innovation, bolstering application implementation, deepening ecosystem construction, and advancing the legislative framework for artificial intelligence.
