Recently, Professor Sun Fuchun’s research team from Tsinghua University’s Department of Computer Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Beijing Institute of Nanoenergy and Nanosystems at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, has jointly introduced an innovative embodied tactile perception and cognition system that employs dual encoding through pulse-language integration. By combining brain-inspired tactile sensors, spiking neural networks, and large language models, this system empowers robots to swiftly identify familiar objects while also engaging in semantic reasoning and in-depth cognition when encountering unknown or anomalous items. The relevant research findings have been published in Nature Sensors.
