Google has recently unveiled a novel account-assisted login and identity verification system—the Selfie Video feature. This innovative approach offers users an alternative method to regain access to their accounts in scenarios where they have forgotten their passwords, are unable to use their usual devices, or encounter issues with two-factor authentication apps. Leveraging this feature, users can simply record a brief facial video using their mobile devices or computers. Google's system then compares this video against a pre-stored reference video stored in its cloud, thereby verifying the user's identity and facilitating seamless account recovery.
