During his visit to Japan, Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA, unveiled a series of significant partnerships with the Japanese government and local enterprises. These collaborations mark NVIDIA’s full engagement in Japan’s ‘sovereign AI’ infrastructure and ‘embodied intelligence’ industrial strategy. NVIDIA is set to team up with 44 Japanese firms to develop the national-level AI initiative known as ‘Noetra.’ This ambitious project will establish a large-scale computing center in Osaka, housing approximately 27,500 NVIDIA GPUs. These GPUs will significantly enhance industrial automation, robotics, and automotive manufacturing capabilities.

In tandem with this, NVIDIA is also broadening its collaboration with SoftBank to construct Japan’s largest AI supercomputer and to test 5G network AI wireless access technology. Furthermore, NVIDIA is working closely with industrial robot manufacturers like Fanuc and Yaskawa Electric to facilitate smart factory transformations. Additionally, NVIDIA is partnering with Toyota on future smart city initiatives, aiming to achieve seamless intelligent interconnection among vehicles, roads, and buildings.
