On July 18, 2026, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, the Shanghai Institute for Science of Intelligence unveiled the multimodal scientific foundation model named ‘Shenzhen’. Boasting around 11 billion parameters, this model is adept at processing six distinct types of scientific data: DNA, RNA, proteins, small molecules, Earth systems, and medical imaging. It facilitates scientific comprehension and the production of diverse outcomes, showcasing outstanding performance in tasks involving biological sequences, small molecules, meteorology, and medical imaging. The model weights, inference code, and related resources are now accessible on three prominent international open-source platforms.
