On July 16, NVIDIA (NVDA.O) announced a deepened collaboration with four leading Japanese industrial automation companies—Fujitsu, FANUC, Kawasaki Heavy Industries, and Yaskawa Electric—to accelerate its deployment in the AI hardware sector through joint robotics development. These four companies will join NVIDIA's Cosmos Alliance, which aims to advance the development of "Physical AI" using NVIDIA's platforms. Physical AI has a wide range of applications, including humanoid robots, factory automation, autonomous vehicles, intelligent buildings, and rail transportation systems. Additionally, Hitachi, Ltd., NEC Corporation, Komatsu Ltd., and Kubota Corporation have also announced their participation in the alliance. Prior to this collaboration announcement, NVIDIA unveiled a series of new technologies this week aimed at accelerating robotics development. These include Cosmos 3-H, a lightweight version of the world's foundational model for Physical AI development that can run on edge computing devices, along with the launch of two robotics computers, the Jetson T3000 and Jetson T2000, positioned between the flagship T4000 series and the AGX Orin platform.
