Elon Musk's xAI enterprise has brought a legal case before a federal court in Texas, charging Terry Harwood, a resident of South Carolina, with breaching the service terms by exploiting Grok to produce child sexual abuse content, non-consensual pornographic deepfakes, and explicit images without the consent of the adults featured. xAI has announced that it has deactivated 52,222 accounts for such infractions and has forwarded 73,604 reports to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which has resulted in a minimum of 244 arrests. On this occasion, xAI is seeking a court order to compel Harwood to compensate for damages and to impose a permanent ban on his use of Grok. Presently, xAI is facing worldwide examination over content safety concerns associated with Grok.
