The Shanghai Consumer Council has unveiled an analytical report on consumer complaints for the first half of the year. While the report shows an overall decline in the total number of consumer complaints across the city, there has been a notable uptick in grievances concerning shared leasing and AI services. Specifically, complaints about shared leasing services soared by 65.8% year-on-year. Consumers have voiced concerns over inaccurate billing for shared bicycles, delayed responses to malfunctions, and ambiguous billing policies for shared power banks. Similarly, complaints related to AI services have risen by 35.6% compared to the same period last year. Consumers have reported instances where AI courses failed to meet their advertised promises, businesses excessively hyped AI concepts, and automatic renewals occurred without explicit consent. Additionally, in the realm of tourism consumption, the inadequate disclosure of "traffic-driving" information has also emerged as a significant concern.
