On June 25, news emerged that Thailand anticipates its export volume to hit a record US$366.8 billion this year. This surge is mainly propelled by the worldwide investments in artificial intelligence, which have significantly boosted the demand for Thai electronic products. Nantapong Chiralerspong, the Director of Thailand's Office of Trade Policy and Strategy, revealed that the total export value is projected to experience an 8% growth this year in comparison to 2025. At present, electronic products constitute nearly one-third of Thailand's exports. With global tech firms ramping up their investments in AI infrastructure, this particular sector is poised to emerge as the primary catalyst for export growth. Thailand has long established itself as a manufacturing powerhouse for electronic products, and the AI boom is now generating fresh demand for its exports. Moreover, this trend has also contributed to an upswing in Thai tech stocks, with its benchmark stock index emerging as the top-performing market in Southeast Asia this year.
