Yang Likun, the former Chief AI Scientist at Meta and founder of AMI Labs, recently asserted that Musk’s AI venture, xAI, has faltered and is no longer able to hold its own in the highly competitive realm of cutting-edge AI. According to Yang, the original founding team of xAI has disbanded, posing a significant challenge for Musk in attracting top-tier AI talent. Yang Likun also highlighted that although xAI boasts an extensive infrastructure and resorts to leasing computing power to offset costs, he remains skeptical about its future prospects, maintaining that xAI cannot hold a candle to industry leaders like OpenAI and Anthropic. Moreover, Yang Likun cast doubt on the true worth of some highly valued AI companies around the world, contending that AI services come with hefty price tags, companies are predominantly operating at a loss, and the industry could be on the brink of a massive bubble burst.
