US-based AI startup Anthropic has underscored its commitment to global expansion by officially declaring the opening of its Seoul office. Earlier, due to the export control regulations imposed by the Trump administration, Anthropic had to restrict public access to its most cutting-edge AI models, namely Fable 5 and Mythos 5. Chris Chauvi, the Managing Director of International Operations at Anthropic, remarked that South Korea stands out as one of the company's most rapidly growing markets on a global scale, owing to its robust technological infrastructure and a vast pool of developers. Presently, Anthropic is ramping up its hiring efforts in pivotal markets such as Korea and is also seeking partnerships with governments and major corporations in various other countries.
