On June 16, China unveiled its first provincial-level government AI platform, ‘Wan Engine,’ which commenced trial operations with the initial release of the Wan Engine・WorkBuddy application—a solution specifically designed for government use. This application is poised to be accessible to all civil servants throughout Guangdong Province. Leveraging Tencent’s proprietary AI-powered office assistant, WorkBuddy, ‘Wan Engine’ encompasses six key government work scenarios: official document support, material verification, policy retrieval, business consultation, process collaboration, and task management. At present, the platform is set to undergo testing in various provincial departments in Guangdong, with plans for a province-wide rollout in the near future. Furthermore, the ‘Wan Engine’ platform integrates over 100 government-specific scenarios, supports compatibility with multiple mainstream large-scale AI models, and features token-level security safeguards.
