On June 11, Xiaomi's MiMo technology team unveiled the exploratory AI programming assistant, MiMo Code V0.1.0, and made it available as an open-source tool. Built as a secondary project leveraging OpenCode, this innovative tool incorporates a time-limited free multimodal model, MiMo-V2.5. It also supports integration with popular mainstream models like DeepSeek, Kimi, and GLM, catering to a wide range of developer preferences and requirements. MiMo Code introduces a groundbreaking persistent memory system that effectively tackles the challenge of information loss during extended sessions. This is achieved through three key mechanisms: project memory, session checkpoints, and task progress tracking, ensuring consistently high-quality output even after hundreds of interactions. Its exclusive Harness system, when combined with Compose mode, automates the entire project workflow—from design and coding to testing and review—resulting in the generation of industrial-grade code. Additionally, the tool features voice input functionality, enabling users to issue commands and modify content using their voice. Compatible with Mac, Linux, and Windows systems, MiMo Code boasts a fully localized Chinese interface and includes a status dashboard for real-time progress monitoring.
