Microsoft has recently restricted its employees' use of Anthropic's newly released Mythos-scale large model, Claude Fable 5, due to concerns over compliance and confidentiality risks that may arise from its data retention policies. According to sources familiar with the matter, after Anthropic updated its data retention requirements, Microsoft's legal team stepped in to assess the situation and temporarily removed the model from the internal GitHub Copilot model list. Currently, other versions of the Claude model that adhere to zero data retention rules remain available for internal use at Microsoft.
