On June 9, Broadcom joined forces with the credit and insurance divisions of Apollo and Blackstone to collectively establish the AI XPV platform. As the inaugural anchor investors, the trio intends to leverage Broadcom's bespoke XPU and networking solutions to allocate over 20 gigawatts of computational resources to AI research institutions such as Anthropic and OpenAI by 2028. In the initial phase of the platform, Apollo takes the lead, with Blackstone co-investing, and has pledged an initial US$35 billion to facilitate Anthropic's expansion plans for computational power infrastructure exceeding 1 gigawatt. The deployment is anticipated to kick off at Fluidstack locations in mid-2026.
