On June 9, Apple (AAPL.O) unveiled its next-generation artificial intelligence platform and upgraded Siri at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). During the keynote, Apple's software chief Craig Federighi introduced that the new platform, Apple Intelligence, is underpinned by Google's technology and is capable of better understanding the contextual information in user requests. This marks a significant moment for Apple, as the initial release of the Apple Intelligence platform two years ago saw many features roll out slowly and underperformed compared to competitors. The comprehensive upgrade of Siri is at the core of Apple's AI revival plan, as Siri has struggled to keep pace with competitors in terms of AI capabilities since its debut in 2011. Federighi stated that the new software update will focus on three key areas: artificial intelligence, performance enhancement, and security. Regarding the Mac product line, the next-generation macOS will be named Golden Gate. Additionally, Apple has refined the Liquid Glass design introduced last year by adding a slider feature that allows users to adjust the intensity of visual effects.
