Moonshot AI has officially unveiled the public beta version of its versatile on-premise Agent—Kimi Work. This launch coincides with the release of the latest test versions of the Mac and Windows clients for Kimi. Kimi Work empowers users to articulate task objectives in natural language, enabling the Agent to autonomously dissect tasks, execute them, and utilize tools on the user's computer, ultimately presenting the completed work results. Recently, the pace of Kimi's product updates has markedly quickened: the Kimi K2.6 model was made open-source in April, the Kimi K2.5 version was introduced in late January, and the Kimi-K2 Thinking model is slated for release in November 2025. In the realm of funding, Moonshot AI has embarked on a new financing round, with a pre-investment valuation soaring to $30 billion. The company has already garnered multiple rounds of investment from prominent investors such as IDG Capital, Alibaba, Tencent, and more. As for business performance, its Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) exceeded $100 million in early March. Moreover, the TPM quota for API supply has become constrained following the launch of the K2.5 model. Founder Yang Zhilin envisions open-source models as the new industry benchmark, propelling the AI research and development process forward. The company is contemplating a Hong Kong IPO, having previously indicated no immediate plans for going public.
