On June 8, 2026, the WeChat Open Platform unveiled a set of guidelines, marking the official launch of its AI ecosystem access capability. Developers now have the proactive option to authorize access via the AI capability section located in the Mini Program management backend. The platform provides two distinct modes—automatic and development—which can be activated concurrently. Presently, this feature is undergoing beta testing, and the decision to utilize it has no bearing on the continuity of existing services.
