On June 8, 2026, the WeChat Open Platform unveiled the "Guidelines for Developers on Accessing the WeChat AI Ecosystem," equipping Mini Program developers with streamlined capabilities to integrate with the WeChat AI ecosystem. Developers can take the initiative to authorize access via the "Mini Program Management Backend - AI Capabilities" section. The platform offers two distinct access routes: automatic mode and development mode. In automatic mode, the platform gains authorization to peruse the Mini Program's source code during the submission review process, negating the need for extra development work. The platform then analyzes the page, allowing the WeChat AI to function seamlessly. Conversely, the development mode empowers developers to craft bespoke solutions tailored to their specific business needs. The WeChat AI can be summoned once the solution clears the platform's evaluation and review process. Notably, both modes can be activated concurrently. At present, this feature is undergoing beta testing, and users are, for the time being, unable to experience it firsthand.
