On June 8th, SK Telecom and NVIDIA made a joint announcement that SK Telecom will construct a gigawatt-level AI cloud infrastructure in South Korea, utilizing NVIDIA's DSX platform as its foundation. The inaugural AI factory is anticipated to commence operations in 2027, with subsequent expansion plans targeting other Asian regions. This AI cloud will harness the power of NVIDIA's DSX full-stack reference architecture to facilitate training, inference, and agent workloads, catering to a diverse range of applications, including sovereign AI, physical AI, and enterprise AI. Furthermore, SK Telecom will become a member of the NVIDIA Cloud Partner Program. In a parallel development, NVIDIA and SK Group revealed their intention to engage in collaborative research aimed at exploring cutting-edge AI factory architectures, with a particular emphasis on full-stack innovation encompassing accelerated computing, storage technology, and data center management.
