At the Tencent AI Industry Summit, Yao Shunyu, Tencent's Chief AI Scientist, emphasized that the crux of advancing in the AI race during its next phase hinges on establishing a sustainable, long-term AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) organization within China. Tencent AI is set to concentrate on three pivotal directions: firstly, refining foundational technologies, including pre-training and post-training processes, to fortify the technological bedrock; secondly, facilitating the translation of these foundational technologies into practical applications, thereby generating tangible benefits for society and humanity; and thirdly, demonstrating the courage to venture into and explore novel research paradigms, thus capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
