The 2026 Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum took place in Chengdu, Sichuan, from May 17 to 20, under the theme "Global Financial Governance in a Flux-Filled Era: New Challenges, New Opportunities, and New Development." During the high-level dialogue session, esteemed guests including Zhu Min, Michael Spence, and Masaaaki Shirakawa delved into a range of topics. Zhu Min highlighted China's proactive integration of AI technology across diverse sectors to bolster productivity. He emphasized that as AI is applied within the financial industry, there is a concurrent need to enhance the regulatory framework. While AI contributes to improving production efficiency and quality of life, broader societal concerns persist regarding its potential impact on employment. Consequently, the nation must implement policies to steer the healthy development of AI, and all stakeholders should work together to establish a robust safeguard mechanism.
