Recently, the research team led by Professor Xu Jun—affectionately known as the "Tongji Crystals" from the School of Physical Science and Engineering at Tongji University—has made a significant breakthrough in leveraging artificial intelligence to advance research on laser gain materials for inertial confinement fusion. They have successfully developed a deep learning framework named ICFgainAI, which is capable of swiftly and precisely predicting both the fluorescence lifetime and the stimulated emission cross-section of laser gain materials. This remarkable achievement has been published in the esteemed international journal Laser & Photonics Reviews, offering vital technical support for the research and development of next-generation laser-driven materials.
