On Saturday, the U.S.-based artificial intelligence firm OpenAI declared that it had inked a deal with the Maltese government. Under this agreement, all inhabitants of Malta are entitled to enjoy a complimentary one-year subscription to the ChatGPT Plus service, provided they have finished specific AI training courses. The initiative was officially rolled out in May, and the breadth of services will broaden in tandem with the rising number of course completers. This offer also extends to Maltese nationals residing abroad. Malta has become the pioneer nation globally to initiate a project that grants all its citizens unrestricted access to ChatGPT Plus, although the financial specifics of the agreement remain undisclosed.
