On May 16th, it was reported that recently, relying on the national major science and technology project for the new generation of artificial intelligence in 2030, the Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, in collaboration with the Suzhou National Laboratory, Tsinghua University, and other institutions, jointly conducted research on 'AI-enabled controllable preparation of large-area single-crystal graphite.' The research established a complete process from massive data construction, machine learning potential function development, atomic-scale mechanism analysis, to experimental preparation verification. It successfully produced high-quality single-crystal graphite with centimeter-scale dimensions and a thickness exceeding 200 microns, providing new experience for AI-driven strategic material research and development.
