On May 15, reports surfaced indicating that several key government bodies—including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Ministry of Commerce—have recently unveiled a set of national standards titled "Grading of Intelligence for Artificial Intelligence Terminals" (GB/Z 177—2026). These standards serve as a benchmark for evaluating the intelligence capabilities of AI-enabled devices, thereby laying a solid foundation for fostering a secure, well-organized, and high-performing AI terminal ecosystem. As a leading contributor to the drafting process, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) boasts extensive testing expertise and advanced technical proficiency across a wide array of AI terminal products, encompassing smartphones, tablets, microcomputers, smart glasses, earbuds, smart speakers, televisions, and automotive infotainment systems. Presently, CAICT has initiated the inaugural phase of compliance testing for the AI terminal intelligence grading standards. Enterprises operating in related sectors are cordially invited to partake in this assessment endeavor, with the shared objective of accelerating the standards' implementation and elevating the intelligence quotient of their offerings.
