OpenAI has announced that its iOS and Android apps for ChatGPT now integrate Codex remote control functionality. Users can monitor and manage Codex tasks via their mobile phones, enabling full-process interaction between mobile devices and cloud or desktop development tasks. This update brings Codex functionality, previously only available in the standalone Mac application, to mobile devices, providing a complete operational interface within the app. The feature is being gradually rolled out to iPhone and Android users starting today, with Windows version support to follow. Initially released with a command-line interface, Codex introduced a Mac version in February this year and added application control capabilities without requiring mouse interaction last month. Recently, OpenAI also launched a subscription plan and released the GPT-5.5 model to enhance the capabilities of ChatGPT and Codex.
