Four key governmental departments, including the National Development and Reform Commission, have jointly released the "Action Plan for Advancing the Mutual Empowerment of Artificial Intelligence and Energy." This plan sets forth the ambitious goal of substantially boosting the capacity of clean energy to support AI computing power facilities, as well as elevating the level of AI applications within the energy sector by 2030. It envisions the establishment of a development model characterized by mutual empowerment and deep integration. The plan emphasizes two core aspects: leveraging energy resources to fuel AI development and harnessing AI to drive energy transformation. To achieve this, it outlines 29 pivotal tasks that span various dimensions, including ensuring a reliable energy supply for computing power facilities, promoting green and low-carbon transformations, fostering synergy between computing power and electricity, and unlocking high-value application scenarios.
