After its debut in July 2023, it rapidly gained traction, becoming the first AIGC (Artificial Intelligence Generated Content) product to successfully penetrate the consumer market. However, a few months post-launch, in November, Zhang Yueguang stepped down from his role due to strategic disagreements with the Digital Media and Entertainment Group regarding the product’s future direction. He subsequently founded MuYan Zhiyu. Remarkably, within just six months, MuYan Zhiyu secured nearly 300 million yuan in funding, achieving a valuation surpassing 100 million US dollars. In 2025, the company launched two innovative products: the AI-powered podcast platform ChatPods and the otome (female-oriented) game "Xingmian." Zhang Yueguang boasts a diverse professional background, having contributed to the strategic planning of Alipay projects, worked at ByteDance, and established his own venture.
