On May 8, 2026, a collaborative effort among the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Ministry of Commerce, and several other departments culminated in the joint release of a suite of national standards, designated as (GB/Z 177—2026). These standards are structured around a '2+N' framework, where two fundamental standards lay the groundwork, elucidating the notions of intelligence, grading criteria, and testing methodologies. The intelligence of terminals is categorized into four distinct levels: L1 Response Level, L2 Tool Level, L3 Assistance Level, and L4 Collaboration Level, each representing a progressive increase in intelligence. The inaugural batch of standards encompasses seven product categories: smartphones, computers, televisions, smart glasses, automotive cockpits, smart speakers, and earphones. Furthermore, there are plans to extend the standardization to additional categories in the foreseeable future.
