On May 4, 2026 (local time), Intel announced the appointment of former Qualcomm senior executive Alex Katouzian as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing and Physical AI Group, reporting directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan. Katouzian, who served at Qualcomm for nearly 25 years and was a key driver behind the expansion of the Snapdragon brand, will now oversee the synergistic development of Intel's client computing business and physical AI systems (including robotics, autonomous machines, etc.), accelerating the company's strategic transformation toward AI-driven next-generation computing. On the same day, Intel also announced the official appointment of Pushkar Ranade as Chief Technology Officer, responsible for advancing emerging technology fields such as quantum computing and neuromorphic computing.
