UK technology expert and open-source advocate Terence Eden revealed that due to concerns over security risks posed by artificial intelligence, the UK's National Health Service (NHS) plans to shut down nearly all of its publicly accessible source code repositories. Eden, who previously led open standards efforts within the UK government's digital services department and was involved in the release of the source code for the NHS's COVID-19 tracking app, stated that the information came from multiple independent sources within the NHS, with insiders expressing shock over the decision.
